Finding a complete set is a different thing, a set with more than 100 small, separate parts is rather likely to lose some over decades.
There are also plenty of new sets that advertise being vintage, but that are vintage only in style. Those are a really good option for playing Mahjong, if you like the old style. You're guaranteed to get a complete set, with all pieces intact and no discernible tiles in set. That's one of the problems in playing with old tiles — there might be few tiles with recognizable wear on the back.
